There are things in life, where humans are great at procastination and feeling bad about it. The most common areas we do this are when it comes to our health, productivity, and cyber security posture. Taking action is, per definition, going to put us in a better position than not doing anything about it.

When it comes to Cyber Security, most people are aware that they should do more, but it's easy to postpone taking action until "it's a better time". That's not just the case with the 99% of us that think they can convince themselves that "nobody is trying to hack me", but also for people who know that they are targets of sophisticated internet criminals.

Here's an example of such security-procastination: A couple of years ago I went to Washington D.C. for work and met a couple of people with rather exposed profiles in their field of work. They had clear indications that made them certain to be targeted by sophisticated attackers, but still procrastinated on taking action on taking simple steps to increase their security posture. In multiple occasions people asked me to walk them through these steps, not because they weren't able to do it themselves, but to prevent them to postpone it to another date. In just a few minutes we were able to protect their accounts from >95% of online attacks.

Are you also procrastinating on improving your cyber security posture? If the answer is yes, get in touch with us to discuss how we can help you.
